Our Pastor

Pastor Mavis E. Vincent, B. Th.

Pastor Mavis E. Vincent was born in Westmoreland Jamaica West Indies, of humble parentage. She was exposed to the gospel at a very early age. She was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost while attending Ducketts Pentecostal Church in Westmoreland. While attending Ducketts Pentecostal Church, she was appointed as a Sunday school teacher. She relocated to Lucea Hanover, and attended Bethel Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic. Being an active worker at Bethel Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic, she was appointed to the office of Sunday school Superintendent and Missionary in 1976, by Pastor Granville Walker. During that same year, she was ordained as a missionary by the late Bishop J. S. Watson.

Missionary Vincent migrated to the United States and in 1981, she worshipped at the Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) in Brooklyn, NY under the leadership of the late Bishop E. G. Clarke, Sr. In 1982, she was ordained as an Evangelist by the Late and beloved Presiding Bishop, Apostle R. C. Williams.  In 1994, the Lord called her into the ministry full time. Being not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, she complied with the Lord’s calling.  She was ordained and installed to the office of Pastor in 1998, by the late Apostle R. C. Williams, who was then the presiding bishop. Regardless of the office, she remains humble and willing to serve the church as well as the community. Pastor Mavis Vincent is both a theologian and an anointed preacher. She earned a bachelor in theology from International Theological Seminary on 04/20/2000.

Pastor Vincent was a License Professional Nurse (LPN) in Jamaica and when she migrated to the United States, she continued in nursing. She often spoke about her passion and love for nursing and a driven desire to help others help themselves. Pastor Vincent is highly regarded in the community and is involved in various community services. She strongly believes that every human being is capable of meeting their goals according to their potential. Pastor Vincent is a member and a volunteer of Literacy Connection in the city of Poughkeepsie, a non-profit organization that focuses on adult literacy.

Pastor Vincent is a pattern of good works and is a stalwart for the gospel. She dedicates her entire life to prayer and fasting. Standing by her personal motto, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” Philippians, 4:13, she continues in the love and fellowship of the saints. Pastor Vincent is a living testimony and true reflection of the way of Christ. With her unchanging humility, she remains enthusiastic in the exploration of learning and teaching the word of God. She preaches and teaches the good news of salvation in various States in the US and on the island of Jamaica.

Far removed from being an anointed preacher, Pastor Mavis E. Vincent is a mother, and a grandmother. She loves walking, reading, communicating, cooking, computers, and traveling. If time permits, she will engage anyone in a game of scrabble.

Over the years, Pastor Vincent has taught, preached, and conducted workshops all for the betterment of God’s people.  Pastor Vincent continues to lead acts of kindness, love, encouragement, and meekness to anyone who graces her presence. Her foot steps are place in the trail that Christ has left for his disciples to follow. With her unselfish ways, she believes that all men deserve to hear the gospel of salvation. Above all, Pastor Vincent is settled on the continuity of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to all human beings.
